RAFTs - Notes

RAFTs is an instructional strategy that targets assignments for students that are focused on "role, audience, format, and topic," (Tomlinson, Brimijoin, & Narvaez, 2008, p. 79). RAFTs helps students understand their roles as writers. By utilizing RAFTs, teachers encourage students to write creatively, to consider a topic from a different perspective, and to gain practice writing for different audiences.
